FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - While some businesses have been hit hard by the pandemic, motorcycle repair shop Cycle Passions in Freehold Township isn't necessarily one of them. In fact, said owner John Senopole, it's been just the opposite.
Growing up in Monmouth County, "I was always fascinated by bikes and thought they were cool; my father and brother were truck mechanics, so mechanical know-how was in my blood," said Senopole, 55, a Howell resident.
Though he loved motorcycles, his parents wouldn't allow him to have one, so he took matters into his own hands when he was 18 and bought his first motorcycle on the sly.
"I hid it from my parents in the shed in our backyard," he recalled. "My father found it one day and I remember sweating bullets waiting for his reaction, but he didn't miss a beat. All he said was, 'You better get good life insurance!'"
