The Hill Country Toy Run's 28th annual Pig Roast, benefiting the Cherokee Home for Children, is Friday-Sunday, Oct. 9-11, at the Blanco County Fairgrounds, 619 U.S. 281 in Johnson City. Admission to the motorcycle rally is $30 per person, which includes a meal of roasted pig on Saturday night. Ages 10 and younger are admitted for free. No unaccompanied minors allowed. Visit the website to buy tickets in advance and receive a T-shirt and run pin.

Past events have drawn more than 1,200 participants, and most begin arriving after 3 p.m. the first day, which includes live music at night.
